Swamp Monster

In the murky waters of the swamp
Where the air is quite damp
Your heart will be stricken with fear
For the beast draws near

His eyes will gaze through your soul
If you stare at him too long he will take a high toll
He will rip the flesh from your bones
And then crush your bones using stones

His hind legs give him incredible speed
Just so you can become his feed
His wings are large
and leave his enemies in fear

Can somebody slay this mighty beast?
Without ending up as his feast?
Nobody will know
But I know I don't want him as a foe
