As a kid we fear darkness
Fear the monsters that hide from us
The monsters that are cruel and heartless
Making our minds slowly become a mess

As a kid we hide from the things that frighten us
Yet we set out to find them that we must confess
That's when we find out the monsters are not real
A world without monsters, wouldn't that be ideal?

As we grow we start to fear the dark less
Sometimes we still fear the dark
That's something to which we must confess
And sometimes the dark creates in us a spark
We don't know why, and that sometimes gives us stress

When we get older and get mature,
We discover a horrible truth.
We stop lookin

The illusion of realityIs this the real world we see?
Or is it just an illusion of reality?
Will death be the thing to set us free?
Or is that just a weird mentality?

Is life just an illusion?
Do we perhaps preserve things differently?
And is this all just a big delusion?

We want the people to think free
But can they be free if they need to follow the rules?
Can they break free,
Without being branded as fools?

If we want to know more
And learn the real truth
We have to venture in the unknown more

A wise man doesn't take the road everybody sees
A wise man travels off the road and leaves a track

Stupid CupidWhen the stupid Cupid came in my way
with bow and arrow, and began to say
"For the loneliness of yours, I have the cure:
a love for you, sweet and pure."
I said, "What kind of angel are you?
Why don't you look for something else to do?
You shoot people, play with their lives
to give them love, which is only strife;
I wonder how fun it must be
to play with other's feelings for pure vanity.
Then, next time you come in my way,
you mind your business, and go away!"
He stared perplexed. What to do, he didn't know.
Then I've stolen the bow and the arrows.

Prove Me RightGo ahead,
Prove me right.
Prove to me
That I'm not
Who you thought.

Prove to me,
Doing what you are,
That I'm the monster
I've been telling you about.
That I'm not perfect.

On the outside,
I may seem perfect to you.
But on the inside...
I'm a monster...
Hurting everyone I meet.

I don't want to hurt you,
But if we keep knowing eachother,
If you stay in my life...
I know I will,
But you deny it.

Prove me right.
Keep knowing me,
Keep being in my life.
You'll get hurt,
I'm telling you!!

Something I'll regret...
Something to hurt you...
And that'll just

A pencil

A pencil is a small thing
Irrelevant to most
But it can create anything

It can create images of a beautiful coast
It creates images that can change your life
It creates images that will withstand time

It creates words that make you feel alive
It creates words that can describe a crime
It tells a story of the past
While looking forward to the future

A pencil shows you a world which is quite vast
It can create images that are quite obscure
A pencil can defeat a sword
But it can also create a sword

So if you're ever down
And you are sitting in your room with a frown
Pick up a pencil
And let it guide you to a world
Beyond your w

the demonessthe obscurity pervades my soul
the light is away from me
the demoness plays with me

resisting the temptation is hard
this creature is appealing
her shapes are voluptuous
her body is tortured by injuries that never heal
my mind is possessed by her charm

I am powerless
I am captivated by the demoness
the light has forsaken me
I am slave to this beauty of evil

SelfishI'm selfish.

I'm alone.
I want you to be alone,
With me.

I don't want you to be happy,
Without me.
I'm not happy,
If you are.

If I'm happy,
I want you to be happy for me.
Funny how I don't think,
That it should go the other way around.

I want us to be alone,
Together.
No one else is allowed,
To enter our private little world.

I get angry,
When someone does.
Is that wrong of me?
I still don't think it is.

My world is a tiny place,
With just you and I.
You can't spell "us" without "u",
And all that.

See what I mean?
Every line in this poem talks about me.
If that doesn't make me selfish,
Then nothing does.

The Soul StealerLook at me,
And tell me.
What do you see?
A monster...?

Do you see someone
Who will steal your
Soul, never to be
Returned back to you?

What about a man
Who follows you around,
Only to stare blankly at you
And make you go insane...?

I may seem like a monster,
But just give me a chance.

The time of your life
Even if you lose it.

RuinsWe thought that it would last forever,
Praising it would never break,
Now all you see are crumbled stones
Where all past strength today seems fake.

Once our dream of glory had come true,
When this place was filled with life,
The streets were full of laughter
And the houses full of golden light.

Now where formerly we lived and loved
Time has faded all our traces,
And the earth reclaimed what once we took,
While humankind forgot our faces.

But look carefully, search with all your heart,
And you might find a trace of past:
A shard of metal, a piece of stone,
The ruin of a home that lasts.

It's one of those days
When everything goes wrong
And it hurts you in ways
When it feels like you don't belong

Thinking of the choices you made
What you've done
Questioning if redemption is too late
Can this guilt be overcome?

What we all go through
Take all of my problems and give 'em to you

Win back the battles I lost
For I am unable to pay the courage it costs

That the past can't be changed
They're right, but the memories won't go away

Beauty Exists In Dead Smiles

He smiles lovingly into her eyes.

He's never loved anyone else as much as her in the entire world.

She stares back unblinkingly at him.

He smiles, "You are so beautiful." He says before kissing her upon her pale lips.

He lifts up her body and proceeds to kiss her passionately.

He loves her. But she never got the chance to hear him say the words.

My emotionsWhat do I feel?
I feel drained
Like all of my emotions have just vanished into thin air
No one can understand the way I feel
No one
Even if you say you do, you won't feel it like the way I do
Something inside of me is eating away all of my emotions
And I can only concentrate on the pain I feel
The only feeling I have apparently
Pain
An emotion everyone hates
Because they feel venerable
No one wants to feel venerable
This is why we fight through the pain
But I don't have the will to do it
Because I don't want to get rid of the only emotion I have

Time Gone PastIt seems the more and more we think
the further and further we stray off track
from what we really want from our life,
and what we truly lack.

We regard the sadness, and lay waste to joy
and string emotion as if a toy
as a metaphor unleashed for hate
shan't we stop before it's to late?

Perhaps it is,
perhaps it has been for quite sometime.
Perhaps we've lost what it means to be us.
Perhaps we've lost our simplicity and sublime.

The past love for each other exists no more,
no more than a myth or a legend of history.
No more can we consider ourselves different
in this galaxy full and full of mystery.

The trees attempt to teach

JoyOne magical summer was all it took
For me to fall in love with you
I was no longer a closed book
I finally found someone I could talk to.

Picnics in the middle of the forest
Flowers in my hair
A thousand vows we promised
Never each other's happiness to impair.

We stand peering into the lake
My reflection always right next to yours
Nothing on Earth could ever break
Our eternal love on these shores.

With you into another world I would delve
A world completely absent of strife.

Just a storyLet me tell you a short story

Long, long ago in a kingdom far, far away.

A young boy once lived with his family.

He was the weakest in the town so occasionally he would get beaten up by the other boys.
His parents sometimes beat him too for being disrespectful or not doing his chores.

He was weak but as he grew he grew tougher, still plagued by the other boys he grew depressed.
All he wanted in life was too have a family.
That's one of the reasons some of the other boys picked on him.
They filled his mind with the thoughts that it never would happen, and he believed them.

writing prompt- a first...Time started moving slower.
As I looked at the blush appearing on her face.
My heartbeat was slowly raising.
It felt like my heart just wanted to burst out of my chest and explode.
I gently moved the hair away from her eyes, feeling my hand touch her silky hair give me a slight sense of excitement.
I smelled the sweet perfume she was wearing, the sweet smell was so strong that it almost felt like I was eating a fresh bowl of strawberries.
Starring at her face, I was enthralled by her beautiful eyes.
Green like a lush forest in the middle of the summer with slight tint of blue soft and gentle as the sea.
The music that was playing in

As you live you make friends,
How long they will stay that depends.
You will have fun and have good times,
You will also feel bad sometimes.

Sometimes friends will stay for years,
Sometimes friends will leave you in tears.
Then we ask who truly is our friend,
Do some of them just pretend?

Some friends will leave when things get tough,
Seeing somebody in pain is always a little rough.
But some of them will stay by your side,
They will help you stand up and fight.

If you have one true friend,
Be it a boy or a girl friend.
You can consider yourself blessed,
Cause they will always help you when you are depressed.

A true friend will stick by you,
And trust me, they will always come through

The simplicity of the words and line structures help to get the reader to trust the Speaker of the poem and make the content easy to relate to.
